Joseph Varet is CEO and co-founder of LX.TV (www.lxtv.com), a broadband television network featuring original lifestyle and culture programming, including the best of food, nightlife, wellness, fashion, art, travel, and real estate.
Prior to starting LX.TV, Joseph managed all aspects of business development and strategic planning for new television and broadband networks at MTV. Among the channels that Joseph developed and launched are MTV World and VBS.TV. Joseph also led development of the MTV Games videogame studio and initiated MTV's $175 million acquisition of Harmonix Music Systems.
Previously, Joseph was CEO of The Groove Alliance, a publisher of branded videogames. He has worked in strategy and new venture development at Fox Television and digital media agency KPE, where he led the Series A financing of Heavy.com as co-director of KPE's venture fund. A native New Yorker, Joseph received a BA degree from Harvard College and a MBA from Columbia Business School. Joseph serves on the Board of Directors of The Northside Center for Child Development and the Contemporaries Executive Committee of the Whitney Museum.
